Today started off pissy and slowly increased in quality until now, at the end, I'm pretty satisfied with it. Up and to the right, and to bed. One of the nicer things that happened is that

kaigex knows, I'm kind of into The Raven... and it's especially awesome to get a gift during No New Objects Time. :) It's better quality than I would have expected, too, which bodes well for the sellers when I start buying stuff again.

I also finished reading the last story in Pump Six and Other Stories, which I got for Christmas. If you can handle a spoonful of darkness with your science fiction, give this a read -- it's the strongest and most original collection I've read in a long time. That said, it turns out that the author's only novel is set in the same world as the two stories I liked by far the least, so maybe this isn't the beginning of a long and beautiful relationship. That's all right, Connie Willis has a new novel out and I still have several excellent novels left in the Christmas pile.
