I might note that minimalism is about buying and keeping things you truly love, and that add to your life in positive ways. You did not buy anything that was not a treasure. You will hopefully enjoy everything for a while. And when you don't, you will probably pass it on to someone else who will enjoy it in turn. I wouldn't call that a minimalism fail at all. :-)
