It's been hard lately to come up with words that fit both my life and the internet. Feeling like this guy as often as I do is probably unwarranted. It seems sometimes like all you guys have stories while I'm just hanging on, or waiting something out, or ploddingly trying to do the next thing that needs doing.

This morning [livejournal.com profile] heisenbug wanted to go to Artbeat, and art love won out over minimalism love: I am plus one crazy alien garden ring. This picture doesn't show how far up the tallest flower grows from the hand... it's not a small or shy piece. I love things that take me just the right amount out of my comfort zone. Luckily, I have one finger that can comfortably wear it: the finger that is already accustomed to my big, chunky class ring from MIT.

Also, today my favorite (acro) base came over to my place and we practiced acroyoga stuff that's right on the edge of what we can do together, and I did some extemporaneous cooking that came out okay. Confidence-inspiring stuff, though also dishes-producing.

i don't know, if those two can do the whole 6-minute piece without falling in a single take and with no spotters, i wouldn't say they can barely do! i'm impressed.

this makes me think maybe i should ditch the whole pro-acrobat thing and just do more acroyoga. basing acroyoga is not too taxing (tiring on the legs, and challenging for sure, but the fact that you are lying down helps a lot, at least mentally) and doesn't make you dizzy, and it doesn't matter how much you weigh, and there are cool readymade sequences like this that you can learn, and do i really need to perform ever, when working with a partner to accomplish this kind of stuff is pretty satisfying in its own right?

then i looked at the original yogaslackers video and was like, owww, my eyes, all those untutored bent legs and floppy feet... but i could get over being a snob (maybe).

i think i'll email my friend who's an acroyoga teacher in nyc and ask her where i'd find the high-level acroyoga folks in nyc. there are so many classes here now and i have a great fear of paying good money to do airplanes all class.

and i'd love to hang out with you and play while you are in town!
