Acro in NYC this weekend: Our sequencing will be a fun and quite challenging: It will include new and exciting washing machines, partner conditioning, static free balances, mono-limb and asymmetrical work, counter-balances, and even some opportunities to switch out base and flyer without coming to the ground.

And this is the teacher. This is their video of back flying "warmups". It's hypnotic... they start out so basic and deliberate, and I'm thinking "yes, I can do that, how delicious and meditative they make it look". Then they start throwing in things I haven't seen, and then more, and then more, until it's insane.

Their calibration sequence, likewise. It's nice that they repeat things several times -- just enough to really figure out what they're doing.

At about 37 seconds they start doing things we don't do in Boston, and (with the exception of some Catherine Wheels that are so smooth I barely recognized them) they don't go back.

Everyone I worked with at the festival who was from Seattle was extremely good. Would it be insane to move there just to practice with this crowd?

Wow. Those guys are good. Makes me wish I had an acro-roommate, because I figure doing some of that every day is the only way I'd get that solid.

I haven't met him, no. Sounds like he has a good philosophy. :)

I'm pretty confident I could fly any of the moves in that video right now - NECCA has done so much for my strength and skill. We're moving back June 1st, and looking forward to seeing Boston friends again!
