Yikes. Recent posts on a weightlifting board have informed me that, as a nicely balanced human being, I should be able to squat at least 1.5 times my bench press weight or twice my military press weight (these happen to come out to the same number anyway). My original question about glute-to-hamstring ratio remains largely unanswered, but people are still posting responses. We'll see. At any rate, that goal seems almost unattainable from where I am now. Half of that number, yes, I think I'll get there pretty soon.

[livejournal.com profile] rumgirl sez the heaviest thing one does should be leg presses, followed by squats and deadlifts, and that's about what I thought. Well, just for amusement value, here are my some of my rankings at the mo'; I know some of the machines have differing pulley arrangements, but hey.

#1 Leg presses / calf presses, when I do them.
#2 Lat pulldowns, RAARRRRGH, go lats.
#3 Adductors
#4 Leg extensions
#5 Bench press and hamstring curl and abductor machine (tie)
#6 Military press
#7 Bicep curls and squats (tie)
#8 Tricep skull-crunchers, and kickbacks (not a tie)

Wow. It's gonna take some work or maybe a miracle to get that tie for #7 up to #2! I must have pudding in my butt.
