flexagonAs for today--the goddamn little psycho feline claw beasts got at my veil. Grrrrrrrrrrrr. Thought it'd be okay hanging from the ceiling, and it would have been if we hadn't gotten complacent and left a chair nearby. I can fix some of the damage and be pretty sure the rest won't show, what with all the folds of tulle and the distance I'll be from the audience, but it's definitely lost any resale value it might have had, and I'm still not totally sure what to do about the one spot where there are larger holes. Cut them so they're smooth-edged and tack the tulle together above them so they're on an inside fold, probably. To do any more would just make it more visible. I did consider cutting MORE holes and claiming it's all on purpose but decided that would just look moth-eaten... and again, realism. I may think it looks awful, but if you don't know it's there, it barely shows. Still annoyed though. I wish I could fix it before I leave for this business trip, just to ease my mind, but since I'm planning to have about 4.5 total hours at home tonight to pack, sleep, get up and shower... it's not going to happen.
'k, now I work and go to class until 9:30, and watch Queer Eye until 11:00, and pack when I get home and get up at 3:00 to catch my plane. <groan> Here comes the tiredness.

Date: 2003-09-02 01:57 pm (UTC)I should have mentioned that getting a new veil, getting it all ironed out, and doing the beading/gluing again is prohibitively difficult at this point. Especially that first part. The fabric store is nowhere close to here and it's a long drive for VCent.
If only I'd known this last night. It had already happened but HLM said he didn't see any damage... which is actually a good sign right? he was looking for it and didn't even see it. Still, I wish that time we spent tying ribbons around stupid slinkies could have been spent mending and concealing instead. Oh well, it's on the list for Thurs night and nothing I can do will move it any sooner, so I'll try to breathe deep and shut up until then.
