Acro festival, 3rd and last day
Oct. 10th, 2011 07:26 pmToday had the most playful vibe of the three, as I a) felt physically better and b) took classes in totally random stuff like partner flips instead of hammering away on classic acroyoga. Learned at least one backflip that's fun, safe and easy.
I also learned this year's accessible yet cool trick from Lux: a barrel roll where the flyer's legs stay together. The legs swing around in a big circle through a pretty tight pike, and it's a VERY different-looking trick than plain barrel roll. It took an experienced eye to spot the identical mechanics happening at the center of things.
Oh, and the Acrolympics. A base and I did 82 pops in about 3 minutes between bird and straddle throne -- totally a PR and we were both soaked in sweat. We got 2nd place, behind someone who did 101... wow.
I thought it might be fun to think how many people I touched today. No idea. Sixteen come to mind easily.
