Acro's been great this week, starting with Tuesday night. My favorite base (we'll call him Scooper) and I finally finished choreographing the flow we've been working on, and we ran through it once on video; it takes just under 5 minutes. Now that it has a beginning and an end, and we've strung all the pieces together, it's really fun to work on. We have a goal of putting in one more difficult trick, and then getting a good video by end of summer.

Then I learned how to fly a super-flashy trick last night, which I had to search half the internet to find a picture of:

The angle of that shot is a little strange... this one shows much better how the hand grip works, although that's also not ideal because they're not standing up. Bleh, where is the online catalog/dictionary of all the major acro poses?

Anyway, OH MY GOD was that fun. I was sure that I'd get it with Scooper, but that didn't diminish the feeling of actually getting it, eight feet up, ultimately on two different bases (and two more got really close). Happy times. First times, all around. So I guess that's going to be my most ninja move now, until some day I get a real hand-to-hand.

Finally, I went crawling back to handbalancing tonight, all nervous about my wrist. I was trying to be conservative but also experimental, and I think I didn't damage it. But it turns out that anything asymmetrical still has to be done on the good side, and goddamn, is my left shoulder tired. I'm going to be in California all of next week, so it gets to rest for a while now. Both sides. Next handstand experiment in two weeks.
