Ha ha. Sunday's banquine fun totally turned into Banquine Day in tonight's advanced acro class. We had to keep things tightly timed in order to get all the flyers through in time, and I waited to let new flyers go first. But I did get a turn, and got two more back tucks to basket catch, CLEAN, no squeaking or bad positioning involved. :D I love getting to work with both of my bases at once.

What else did we work on? Oh, right, hand-to-hand. In short, class tonight was just like my awesome weekend. I got a couple of decent standing h2h holds on Scooper, for the first time in months, and got good advice from [livejournal.com profile] ellenclaire and was content... I do better and feel better with the Ant for this trick, but I'll get more Ant-time soon.

Two other awesome things. One is that my chest started touching the floor in the SECOND (not third) set of my straddle workout on Monday. Wow. I've been doing that one religiously twice a week, even as my other workouts slip, and, like magic, it yields regular progress. I am in love with it.

Lastly, Zillian runs a big survey every year or so in which we're asked about many things -- how our group performs, how we like our manager, etc. It's a long survey. For the very first time this year, as a manager, I got statistics for my team and they were fascinating! They were also good... apparently really good. The site director told me today that they were the best overall for any manager in the Cambridge office. FUCK YEAH, not sucking.

Now if this lingering cough would go away. It only comes out to get me at night, but I'm not a fan.

Congrats on the ass kicking report! Must feel good.

There is a nasty cold/cough going around here. Seen quite a few people not show up at work or the gym lately due to it. Hope its not what you got.

How many days a week are you doing acro/other physical stuff?

hello! I've seen you commenting on nevers's journal and I have the impression you're part of a strong Boston acroyoga community. A friend who is planning to move there asked me what kinds of circus are available in Boston, but a little bit of internet searching didn't lead me to an obvious class or studio in acroyoga. Would you possibly be willing to share what studio you train at? Or even what classes would be best for a beginner who is more interested in circus-style partnering than yoga-style partnering? I've heard of Esh, on the aerial side, but wasn't sure whether that was also a major center for the acro community.

Thank you so very much! That's really helpful info-- I appreciate it a lot! I passed this along to my friend. She's actually not a circus person yet, but I'm hoping to convert her. :)
