As for goals and resolutions and things, Robot Hugs has a list of animals to pat in 2015, and Emily Nagoski recommends recognizing pleasure. Both of these are excellent ideas.
I've been suffering from a sort of anhedonia, in which holiday stuff's been nice but I'm not much looking forward to anything much in the future -- I know that good things will happen, but I can't quite see them, and the things currently on my calendar aren't turning my crank. The upcoming year seems full of vague worry-makers.
THEREFORE, every day in January (starting today, and excepting my weekend in NYC) I will spend some time planning good things for the future. Small things are allowed to count; things like arranging acro semiprivates, or researching times to visit Las Vegas. The point is to spend time anticipating, and setting up things that I will naturally anticipate.
norwoodbridge is doing it too; he notes that it's challenging to get out of his "crap this needs to be done for tomorrow" mode, and that might be another facet of this little challenge, but for me it's about trying to break out of the doldrums.
