So my office now has several big plastic spiders hanging from the ceiling, doorframe, & doorknob by threads of human hair... they really look like spider silk. Yeah, I like the Halloween office decorating contest, but next year maybe I won't pick spiders as a theme. Between my office and my next-door neighbor's (which is COVERED in that fake web stuff and more spiders) I'm getting too freaked that a real spider will sneak in and hide among the plastic ones and, like, land on my head.
I ended up being fairly cheerful last night. Work was fine, I went to half a TKD class and then home, and we cooked a lot... all of it was yummy, everything was nice and normal and clearly far beyond anything the universe would actually give me to keep. Yeah, I've been backsliding on that whole acceptance thing again. Yes, head, I want to say, there are reasons for everything good in my life not to last... they've always been there, lined right up against all the reasons for everything good to last, and they've been losing! For years! And I suppose that is a decent argument, though at the moment I just don't want the nasty things crawling around at all.
I have lots of work to do, and I'm having lunch at the Bombay Club soon with an older woman from my DC class who I think is very wise, and later I'm going to get in a decent workout. All good opportunities to get out of my headspace and into reality, or so I hope. :)
Thought for the morning: if you're making a somewhat controversial movie about the christian God and keep getting struck by lightning, would you take it as a hint? Hmmm.
