* I don't get why it's better to put long, boring, personal stuff in cuts, unless it's really out of control. My friends page shows the most recent 25 friend-entries regardless of the length of those entries, and if one is long I can just scan it... seems easier to me than having to open it in new window and THEN scan or read it. But then mebbe I'm being dumb and LJ really will show fewer on some people's friend-pages or something. *shrug*
* Note to my face: I'm very sorry I didn't immediately replace my Oil of Olay facial cloths the moment they ran out two weeks ago. I'll never use free-sample so-called "pure" DHC soap on you again. But I do have new facial cloths now, so will you please please stop breaking out now so I can stop looking so 14-year-old and stupid. Thanks.
* This weekend has been good, in a quiet way. I went to Mt. Auburn with HLM, and watched my new Lion King DVD, and got a GDD and slept and slept (and had two good tae kwon do classes... I still have tightness in my upper legs, especially with big dynamic movements, but to my amazement my body is finally coming to terms with wheel & hook kicks. Is it coincidence that I'm getting good glute involvement in leg presses these days, or was my glute theory right all along? I don't care, if makes me pretty happy. [So does the fact that AJ was there in her pretty new blue belt, too, but my jealousy-meter is still at zero. Jealousy sucks... it's nice to slip the traces!])
* Lifting today: well, I hurt my right elbow on Friday and that pretty well buggered most of my upper-body moves, so I focused on leg stuff instead. Increased my leg press again... yay for what I've done, and how I'd love to be pressing even more... like 2.5 soyfetuses! I think I'll make that my goal, that and (even harder) squatting a single soyfetus in the Smith machine. No reason I can't do these things... oh, it's slow, but time will give them to me, I think. :)
* Reading is weird right now... I'm reading White Teeth by Zadie Smith, and Classical Music for Dummies, and Lincoln the Unknown (a biography) pretty much simultaneously/randomly. Makes for odd thought-snippets. Note that I haven't been reading the magazine book though. I'm about done with the relevant bits, but more importantly I decided I need to slow down and stop stressing about that.
* Real estate question for any of you who've bought a place: if we're saving for a condo, and have about 2/3 of a 10% down payment saved up, are we best off waiting until we have the full 10% (which would be about March) and then starting to look, or should we actually start looking sooner, as my coworker suggests? Lots of home loans are 5% these days anyway, and obviously if we did that we could overpay until we had paid up to the 10% (or even better, up to 20%, because they charge you an extra fee until you've done that). In terms of the loan, of course we're best off waiting so we can get lower monthly mortgage payments, but then again, every month we're in the apartment is another $1700 just being pizzled away for rent. So four or five months of that, if it isn't necessary, is kind of a painful chunk of money. I just don't know enough about the market to make this call.
* I'm going to go make some muffins now. :)

cuts n' stuff
Date: 2003-11-02 10:45 pm (UTC)Glad you had a nice quiet weekend. And congrats on the leg improvement ... I'm very jealous as I've seen little improvement on my lower half!
Re: cuts n' stuff
Date: 2003-11-03 12:02 am (UTC)I didn't say that to pick on blue, though... I was more explaining my reason for not cutting my own possibly-boring stuff. Seems easiest to let the audience skim w/o opening new window if they don't care what's up with me today.
You'd not be so jealous of my legs if we were talking absolute numbers. But any improvement is improvement, so--thanks! :D
