Goodbye lovely city... I'm off to Colorado Springs, rabidly conservative home of Focus on the Family and the air force base I'm visiting, where it'll feel somewhere in the teens tonight if you count wind chill. Yes, I am wriggling in joyful anticipation! Or I would be, except that I'm not.

Actually, I've decided to throw myself a small challenge and see if I can enjoy this one. It shouldn't be a stressful trip. I have several pretty fun things I can do while not stuck in meetings, not to mention a couple I can do while stuck in meetings if they can pass for "taking notes on the laptop". The hotel has a pool, I have my suit. And I'm also bringing Kushiel's Chosen, which will perhaps help keep my sexual side from totally dying (as it often does on business trips). I figure if masturbation is one of the goals, which it is, a book with a smattering of S&M scenes can only help. :)

Oh yeah--mayoral elections for my town were today. I voted against the guy with the nice eyes. And I also managed to wring an apology out of the office meanie after he decided calling me a bad engineer would be a funny joke. Not that I should have taken it remotely seriously... but it was kind of nice to get him to apologize, nonetheless, considering he's been pissing me off all week. It's hard to say if I did right from a personal relations point of view... where's the right place to draw the line between getting along with people / not taking things too seriously, and standing up for yourself? I dunno, but buddy, if you tell me I worked that hard for five years for nothing... you might as well at least become aware that I have that line, it exists, it's crossable.

Nice...

What is it with women and bondage/S&M? Could either of you care to explain?
