Physical jank, city love, turkey day

I haven't felt physically 100% for a while now. Hanging out in the 90s, yes, but not hitting the sweet spot. I have a runny nose off and on, and for a while chest congestion off and on, never quite enough to say "I have a cold" (though I wrote that yesterday, and today I think yes I have a cold); there's a bit of jank in my right shoulder where it doesn't want to hold a bar on my back for my straddle workout anymore, and in my left hip flexor where it hurts to pike in tightly for handstands. Jankety jank.
To add to this, I feel disheartened by my lack of discipline with strength and flexibility work lately; so much focus on skill work has cut down on my focus when it comes to more predictable things. I knew this would probably happen if I got a new acro partner or series of them, but it's disappointing nonetheless.
I do have something new to show for the skill work, though: by following a certain order of operations that is new, I can now get my feet off the floor when trying to do a press handstand. The feet go off the floor and then inevitably forward, to continue the story, and I end up in a seated straddle on the ground. :P I got video of this but haven't had the heart to examine it just yet. It's slightly cooler that I also was able to straddle down from a handstand into seated-on-the-ground, like a stalder negative but the ending doesn't stick.
I want, simultaneously, to start a new fitness regime and to curl up in a tub of Epsom salts forever.
Nation-level news is disheartening, but Massachusetts is basically the Rebel Alliance now, and the cities may yet save us. Statement from Somerville, statement from San Francisco ("we will not be bullied"), speech in New York City ("we will not comply").
Also, am I supposed to talk about the holiday?
heisenbug and I took a few things over to a social connection's Friendsgiving event. It was about the right level of adventurous: we knew a handful of people but not most. I showed off my newly-caught, newly-added-to-the-game Pokemon, Ditto, to a giant of a man (he was probably 6'8") who was wildly jealous and with whom I talked games for a while; played Joking Hazard both before and after the food; didn't stress.
