Check out You Will Know Love by Smoove B., The Onion. I think the high point might be the phrase "sexy panther jigsaw puzzle", but there are several close runners-up. :)
Yesterday my coworker J showed me how to check the listings for real estate on boston.com. It's pretty easy. And to my shock, there are bunches of condos in Cambridge within walking distance of the T for $300,000 or a little less! Which means, dear friends, that this can be done, it can definitely be done. We saw the financial guy last night and while it was slightly uncomfortable, it was good. A agreed to start saving 15% for retirement next time he gets a job, and in fact couldn't believe I'd thought he might not. So that was great. Getting the condo will be a little trickier, though, especially if we want it a year from September. I might be able to just barely do it alone, but maybe not without Financial Guy's help, and I do hope I can get some contribution from A. For one thing, I expect to be quitting my job right around that time, and don't want to be completely strapped, but then A pretty much will be completely strapped. Oh well... so 2004 is shaping up to be interesting. I can do interesting. The worst thing I see happening is that I might get stuck at my job if it takes me some span of time to find another with higher or equal salary.
Lastly, I found this great quote last night that maybe resonates more with me than it sometimes would since I've been thinking so much about putting two lives together into a semi-coherent whole. I like it because it's very dry and abstract sounding, but then you think about it, and it zings ya.

We often think that when we have completed our study of one we know all about two, because 'two' is 'one and one.' We forget that we have still to make a study of 'and.'
