I checked out bodyforlife.com to see their recommended workout schedules, and ended up looking at their success stories as well. Annoying, annoying. All the women in the "after" pictures, with one wide-hipped exception, are posed with their legs slightly crossed to make their thighs look thinner, and they're also the color of basted turkeys. Please people, go easy with the self tanner and orange camera lenses. Worse yet, the individual stories make it clear how much they really focus on weight/size loss. If I were a pale, skinny beginner (as I once was) it would not be clear to me that this program offered me anything, even though of course it would. Why don't they show at least a couple of people who started out scrawny and got buff?

There's also something grating about something that's supposed to be for life, yet places such heavy emphasis on a 12-week program.

[livejournal.com profile] rumgirl's talking about rechristening people. Hmm, perhaps I should start calling A something else to avoid confusion with a, the word. I could go with FH, but half the people on salon have an FH. Boring. How about HLM for Hacker Love Monkey? Hey.... < laughs out loud in empty office > ... Bug For Life. But now my title for this post has gone horribly awry. I give up.
