DO NOT TELL ME ABOUT THE HUGE HOUSE YOU BOUGHT OUT IN BOONFUCK FOR $100K.

As you might guess, I heard another such story today. Some 5-bedroom house with trees and a small attached rental property and all kinds of nice things for $105K in Athens, Georgia. Yes, okay, that's great for Georgians, but I love living here, and here is where I'm buying. I have been dealt cards that (barely) allow me to do this. And there's an awfully pretty-on-paper condo between our current place and Porter Square that we are almost sure has the same layout as our current place and might, just might, be in our price range (which we've decided to extend by 10% if the bank will let us). They were supposed to have an open house today, and we trudged through the snow to get there, but nobody answered the door. Well, their loss... we'll get our realtor to show it to us. And if we love it, who knows, this may all be fast-track again.
Speaking of which, for my sanity's sake I have to call our landlords in the next couple of days to set up a time to talk. They're still ignoring us, just saying they'll call back and then not doing so, and it's making me SO PISSY. I bet all they want is the money, so why are they being so chickenshit? Must find out.
Also, thanks to the nor'easter for getting the gym so empty today! I had the place all to myself for a while, including while the radio was playing Stairway to Heaven and I was (very cautiously) nudging my leg presses into new territory... now that was a well-crafted minute or so. I got super tired shortly after that though... perhaps I'm hitting that limit where full-body workouts won't work for me anymore.
I just called my mom and it wasn't quite as much like talking to a wall as usual. I got her to stay on the phone for a few minutes after we'd run out of "official" topics of conversation. Progress...? Ehh, it's too dangerous to hope. At least she's happy.
