Notice anything different?
Feb. 25th, 2004 09:39 amThat's right, I got a new haircut. Very good. :)
I continue to hear a big voice saying "you're settling in, all right... but to something different from before." I'm a flexagon now. And not only that, I'm going to be a blue belted flexagon soon--I signed up for the next tae kwon do test last night after getting The Lecture from both teachers about sparring more regularly and working on this and that. They don't make signing up a feel-good experience anymore at these higher levels... but it is good, both as an affirmation of the work I've been doing and as a guarantee that I'll have a great couple of months. I have to say, it was nice not to freak out and get all depressed this time. It's interesting that, just like AJ, I will have spent less time as a blue stripe than as a green belt... though I expect to be blue for quite a while. Seems like there's a big difference in skill level required to get beyond that.
Our landlords want to refinish the floors at our old place. We're giving them permission to do it, but are a little concerned about whether it will take until after March 1... it's great that the place will be improved (it needs it) and it should make it easier to rent out at at higher price, but it's obviously annoying if it could potentially break a deal with an interested party.
