Waiting for Godot
Feb. 26th, 2004 01:46 pmThe table I've been working on all week... is... displaying data! The rows displaying important data are even turning red and yellow as appropriate. Ees so pretty.
I have a question about sports bras for you ladies. In the last year and a half or so I've started having some skin troubles on my upper back--little sores that don't heal up quickly. I always assumed it was acne, and just vaguely hoped it would go away. I also considered myself lucky that my sports bra covers almost all of it, so I don't look nasty in the weight room... well, until two days ago when I realized it's getting worse again and that the pattern follows my sports bra exactly. It's so obvious I can't believe I didn't realize it before. The contours are clear, and the places it's worst are the places the straps rub the hardest against the back of my traps. Plus, it was getting better at the end of Jan when I wasn't doing TKD so much, and now it's there again.
So, now that I know part of what the cause is... I can do things like wash my sports bras more often, and wear normal bras when possible (lifting in a normal bra is fine, and I can even get away with it in most TKD classes). But it would also be nice to get some sports bras with non-racerback backs, just to give that area a total break from chafing for a while. Does anyone know where I could get such a thing? Has anyone heard of an issue like this one before?.
Godot was supposed to arrive today. Godot the couch, that is, thus yclept because we've been waiting so long for it. But, guess what? Godot does not fit up the stairs, and must be taken away and disassembled and brought back... and this apparently takes 7-12 business days! Whatever happened to the idea of the delivery guys carrying screwdrivers in their back pockets and going at it?
The other theoretical arrivals of the day are M and whiplash boy, who are driving down Alabama-wards and passing through here. I have the usual embarrassing 10% of me that remembers I really wanted to do federal taxes tonight... but I know those thoughts will be faint memories when I actually see M. And at least she should fit up the stairs.
