And a big wtf to NSTAR while I'm at it
Apr. 7th, 2004 04:21 pmI had some small but conflicting electricity bills (under two different account #s, no doubt) from NSTAR, the local gas & electricity joint. It turns out they cancelled my electricity account, as requested, then noticed that my lease wasn't up yet and started a new account in my name, without asking or informing me! Wtf!? Is that even remotely legal? However, they agreed to switch it away from my name and shut off service when I explained we didn't live there anymore. So I don' t have to pay the bill.
(Even weirder, now that I think of it, is the fact that this hasn't happened yet for gas, which is a lot more expensive. Urgle... sure wish I'd thought to double-check that one while I was still on the phone. Perhaps I'll call them tomorrow.)
I talked to HLM today and he's showing the apt tonight to two people, at least one of whom is still looking for May 1. So there's still some tiny hope that things will work out without getting nastier than they already have. If everyone could please send "you know you want it" vibes in their direction...? Thanks. :)
