I made this up tonight: if you had a unit of measurement named after you, what would it be measuring and how big is it?

From the group I was out with at the time, this could simply be decibels (hah, yeah), or a ratio of music output to words spoken, or a unit of tea consumption per hour.

I finally decided that anything named after me would be measuring delayed gratification, and that the standard measurement for that is probably the marshmallow-hour. Or, to be standards-compliant, the marshmallow-second.

One [personal profile] flexagon is about 3e8 marshmallow-seconds, equivalent to delaying the consumption of 10 marshmallows by about a year.

But don't the marshmallows get terribly stale in that year?

I have a hard time thinking about what my current unit of measure would be. Things that would have been appropriate in the past are less so, now.
