Another thing that happened yesterday: I went to the gym for straddles and splits (just flexibility work, trying not to get too sweaty or anything) and it felt orgasmically good after two days on the couch. I was so flexible I actually tapped my 1-yoga-block oversplit on both of my front/back splits, for the first time in quite a while. And I got the right kind of sympathy from three of my peeps at the gym, quickly going from "what happened to your hand" to "ugh, so sorry you have to rest, hang in there". If I hadn't been going there for years, working out with the giant bandage might have gotten a really different reaction, so I'm grateful for the community. Being a regular is worth... uh, the weight of a 5lb dumbbell in gold.

I'm in the planning process for a pro photoshoot in June, and that'll be nice since my last set of professional nudes is a shocking five years old. I've been gathering up inspiration for the new set, based on things I can do now, and it should be good. My face might be slightly more lined, but my body not so much. Between that, and doing a Tough Mudder later in June, I have a couple of unusual things to train for: vanity/leanness/posing for the shoot, and monkey-bar type swinging for the Mudder. And that's fun, in a challenging way.

(Anyone local who has good ideas for WHERE to practice swinging on monkey bars, btw, I'm all ears. Most of the crossfit boxes nearby should provide, but they mostly don't seem to have "open studio" time, and the nearby playgrounds have bars too low to the ground to allow an adult to hang full-length.)
