Good stuff... now I'm behind on work
Feb. 25th, 2018 04:57 pmThis was a strange week, with
norwoodbridge in California and the three-day weekend providing some added weirdness. I saw Lion an unusual amount (just brief social things, but still), and we had this dialog around mid-week:
Lion: waaaaait a minute, have I seen you every day since Saturday?
Me: pfft, you think I keep track of that kind of thing?
Lion: yes, I think you do.
Me: well. Yes.
I'm feeling behind at work, but glad I did the other things I did this weekend: reading party at
coraline's at which my weighted blanket made several friends, a Pokemon Go community day (out for 3 hours catching about a million Dratini in the Boston Common, along with hordes of other players and a furry convention), birthday party at Lion's at which I tried playing Isle of Skye, brief fix-up-a-friendship acro, and of course a long catch-up date with
norwoodbridge when he finally got back from CA.
I also did probably my best-ever Mexican wave on Sunday... about six side-to-side shifts, on canes. I'd kill to have gotten that on video, but at least there was a witness so I have confirmation that it happened. :-)
I've been invited to serve on an appeals committee for work in NYC in April, so that's another thing. I should probably stay one extra night, both in order to not feel so exhausted and to do something cool while I'm there.

But sometimes, the promotion committee says no and the person's manager decides that the committee was missing something. The manager writes an appeal and says "hey, wait, here is more evidence of the person's awesomeness that we sadly did not include in our first attempt".
An "appeals committee" then meets to make a final decision on those cases.
