A-week-ago happiness led into this last weekend's existential angst. I had another four-day weekend (took Friday and Monday off), and, even though I tried to do fun things with the bug, had a bunch of time where everything just felt like chores and I could not find the tiniest shred of meaning to life. A strange time to start with the rather perky panda planner pro, which I'd told my exec coach I would try out. But that's what I did. Meh. I finally got a palate-cleansing kind of day on Monday with a long walk with a friend, then a backbend class, then half a cider and a rather delicious nap while reading in the living room. It may be notable that I also didn't cook that day... hmmm. Anyway, I got my mental break at the very end, and now it's back to the grind.

Quilt: it's very satisfying to cuddle up under the quilt I made. It's not done -- the sewing machine works again and I'm working on the final quilting -- but it's in one piece, and perfectly usable if I'm between seams. These final seams are, I expect, what I'll be doing through the next few weeks of performance measurement season at work. I decided to be a bit finicky and buy different-colored threads to do the different-colored T-shirt squares with, instead of an all-over pattern, so that adds time to the project, but I don't really have another crafty project lined up anyway. May as well draw it out a bit.

Mental health: something feels a little sketchy and my finger is not quite on it. I'm hearing more people worrying about the winter, and we're headed into a rough time at work, but I don't think it's either of those.
