Warm fuzzies and verbosity
Jan. 22nd, 2004 02:27 pmWow... I released five books last week through BookCrossing for the first time in a while, and I heard back from one of them on Monday... and this morning I just heard back from two more! What an amazing catch rate! Even more amazing, one of those books just got caught for the second time, which makes it the first book of mine ever to go through three people :) And to think it's been months since I last bookcrossed... I obviously had just forgotten how fun it is.
I also ordered some roses & chocolate to be delivered to AJ from RC and me on Valentine's Day, since she's the only one of our feisty trio to be single this year and I haven't done anything nice for her lately. Good deed for the day: check.
Had lunch with
bluechromis... hehe, it's always such a blast comparing stupidities and noticing how well they line up. I came away laughing and thinking "human nature!". But that whole quest-for-a-happy-life thing.... well, it's one of those things you can laugh at and laugh at and still find it worth the stress of going for.
And oooooh yes YES YES, I just got an "all conditions are met" call from Brenda, my favorite banker in Quincy... eeeeeee, that's good!!! She had gotten the thank-you note I wrote her after she stayed late for me last Friday, too. More warm fuzzies. So, she still has to fax the stuff over to the bank's lawyer, who will then call my lawyer with the official "all conditons are met", and then we can all relax into puddles of goo on the floor. :)
I was reminded, by the way, to mention I'm about to leave for a fabulous girls' weekend out in Manhattan... the whole thing is a huge bachelorette party for Y, for whom I'm going to be a bridesmaid on Feb 9. I'm going to take the Greyhound down (tomorrow) and back (Sunday). I don't know the other two girls, but it should be a good time anyway. How could it not be?
