Almost 2AM, I give up, time to sleep
Sep. 14th, 2020 08:10 pmThis weekend was rather date-filled, with a strange inversion of my more usual order. First
norwoodbridge on Saturday for a horseback ride -- placid, but my first since childhood! -- and the making of tamales, which was my idea and mostly followed half of this recipe with some cheats to make it easier. Both of these things were successes; I want to make the tamales again but with the full recipe and at my place, so that I end up with a bunch of them in the freezer.
Second, Sunday was my wedding anniversary with
heisenbug! Yeah, that sneaked up on us both. In the end we managed fairly well while still being low-key, with fancy takeout from Talulla and then making chocolate lava cakes at home from a kit.
Now I'm back at work and in hell, as it's finally calibration time and I will spend many many hours this week discussing people's ratings in big interminable meetings (got started with the first 5.5 hours earlier today, yay). I'm supporting a promotion case that my manager's not particularly thrilled about, which is awkward af, and am currently writing the manager support for that, along with the 300-word summary of my own last year. Next week will be a different phase of the grind.
Rather to my surprise, I did have a cool/delightful moment this evening, in backbend class where I learned a 100% repeatable way into cheststand that doesn't involve kicking or a wall. This is totally TOTALLY going into my circus act! Which, honestly, how am I supposed to choreograph if I keep learning new things? Heh.

I guess we did "private bay-side ride", an hour for $45 each. There are probably other places closer to home, but this one was close to his home, and was nice...
