flexagonI survived feast-or-famine April, and things basically get better from here, covid-wise. All my May post-its are about second doses (heisenbug yesterday, me Tuesday, Norwood Friday) and their associated full vaccination dates. So while I'm back to masks with Helios and masks/outdoors with Norwood, which feels strange after last weekend when I stayed overnight with each of them in turn, it won't be for long now. Which is good because I think everyone feels like a paperclip that's been bent back and forth, back and forth.
Also in poly news,heisenbug went on a date last weekend! That was exciting even though it didn't seem to be pointing at a new romantic connection; adventures are good. Norwood has some new OKCupid match also, and it's generally safe to say that the inevitable, epic dating blitz of 2021 is preparing to kick into gear. It amuses me; I'd expected to be part of all that, but now I'm just going to curl up with my (equally polysaturated) squirrel and amiably watch the madness unfold.
I like being in my 40s. I was out withmeat_and_breath recently and we were chatting about quite a few things that would have flattened us in our 20s (yes, we knew each other then) and instead we were moderately cheerful. Like: yes, kids sometimes fail a year of school and marriages/friends go wonky, and also it's a nice day and who doesn't appreciate coffee with a side of nice long friendship? I had to call time-out just to appreciate the solidity we've gained.
There is already a bit of pressure to snap back to old-normal, but I'm not there yet and have declined some invitations. And my press handstand workouts are still resulting in gains.
