Back into it

flexagonI've bounced back to a pretty good mood, in the aftermath of last week's weird little self-confidence crash. It probably helped to have the bug come back home, and to have a couple of moments at work where I felt I had traction on some of my problems, but also who knows? Moods are like weather.
Antibiotics have been much, much less helpful, as I have some body parts that just freaking HATE antibiotics and they are positioned to ruin some good times. However, I took the amoxicillin for 6 days (doctor said "at least five") and my cat bite is no longer swollen, so at least that's one thing fixed. Caltrop, she of the small golden eyes and needle teeth, will get no bath this week.
My 401(k) has eaten a paycheck and a spot bonus and a peer bonus. RUDE.
I attended an excellent birthday AMA at which awkwardness was encouraged (double points awarded to any person who made themselves uncomfortable by asking their question).
Cute memory: the squirrel had confessed to some dread about picking up his fiddle after a period of not playing, so last night I asked for a tiny ten-minute lesson to teach me to play just one note. ONE NOTE. Yes, right away right away, one note, why not! I'm sure he saw right through me, but it didn't matter. We got the newly restrung bow all rosined up, and the strings tuned. I'm even told I finally played a moderately nice A, and did the proper thing with my wrist, as most beginners perhaps don't. But the squirrel also played scales and a little tune to make sure it was all working, and I smiled like the sneakiest villain.
Also, I watched a tutorial on Youtube and then trimmed both the squirrel's and the bug's eyebrows! They are so tidy now. It was easy.
I want to like Maquette because of course I should like a puzzle game that's about recursion and relationships. But some of the puzzles aren't designed very fairly and I don't think I'll make it through. We shall see.
