After the cat thing, and making a calendar full of check-boxes to keep track of all the cat meds, the weekend was largely a matter of getting my body relaxed enough to work out (I have a new set of Perth-coach workouts, and Week 1 is always pretty comedic). This was not easy or quick... I was really tense.
But I had my dates. I watched Little Miss Sunshine with the bug and thought about all the different ways that people can be losers and still be all right, then floofed off to Walden Pond with the squirrel; only my second time there, and my first time swimming in it legally, with a swimsuit, during the daytime. We then finished watching Season 1 of Severance, complete with the horrible unresolved cliffhanger that I knew was coming; the poor squirrel was aggrieved and needed to do some biting to clear its system, which is understandable.
While on a video chat with
apfelsingail I also tried to replace the screen of an old Pixel 3 phone using stuff from iFixit, which is a project I've had sitting around on my shelf for several months. So far it's persuaded me that paying other people do to this is probably worth it, though I may feel differently if the phone works when I finally, eventually put it back together. It also taught me about standoff screws (they have a plus sign like for Phillips-head, but flat rather than pointy). Currently stuck on Step 36 here.
Then some food and some vengeful science fiction reading when I knew I should have been catching up on work email, and finally about 90 minutes of work. Boring.
