At this point, my legacy to the world is going to be blood. Menstrual blood. Lots of it. I took a pill almost 24 hours late during my last cycle and bled for almost a week because of it--a much stronger reaction than I usually have to missing a pill. I was hoping that meant I'd have nothing left in there, and a really light period when it was period time, but no... this is the heaviest it's been in months. Whatever little creatures live in the sewage treatment plants are going to get some yummy uterine lining tonight! :b
I guess this explains the raging sweet tooth.
*gives in, eats sugar-covered pastry and has coffee*
It is my bug's birthday, by the way. Happy birthday, dear bug! :) He really is the best ever... he hung out with me last night and we did a cryptic crossword puzzle together while I washed tons of dishes, and then he rubbed my head. I purred and purred. Tonight we have a condo association meeting to discuss what to do about the asinine demands of our insurance company... sigh... some birthday party. It's not likely to be much fun. I'm bringing home one of those decadent little chocolate espresso cakes from Dancing Deer, to attempt to make up for it.
Ugggggh, and I need to set up a dinner for my birthday. It so does NOT help that both my favorite "special occasion" restaurants died within the last year. Hello, inspiration? Hit me!

Date: 2004-05-27 07:36 am (UTC)EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK.
Date: 2004-05-27 07:46 am (UTC)Moving along, I have that happen if I'm so much as an hour or two late on my pill, on this new kind anyway. It's total crap, I'm going back to ortho-tri-cyclen asap. Or maybe the patch. But it's just not realistic to never be off by an hour or two.
Doesn't that make you wonder if, like, your body really needs to shed some of that stuff? Do you know what causes it? Is it like your hormones have been on such a strict schedule for so long and then it's suddenly summer and they're running around your uterus tearing up textbooks?
And yeah, I hear you on the sweet-tooth. Mine also likes fat, so ice cream is a good choice.
Happy Belated Birthday Bug! HBBB!
As for your dinner, lemme throw out a few ideas, there's Dali, there's Bombay Cafe, East Coast Grill (Tiki Room?!), The Red House, Border Cafe, Enormous Room...
Re: EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK.
Date: 2004-05-27 08:14 am (UTC)At any rate, you've paid me back. I mean, tearing up textbooks??? I know whatcha meant but that was a weird image. :) And yes, I do wonder sometimes, but don't really know anything. I've heard that the period purges us of heavy metals and that's part of why women have lower heart-attack risk until menopause. Damn, I wish I could get off the pill.
Thanks on the suggestions! Border's not a bad idea at all--pretty cheap, close, they have drinks and can handle a 10-person group. I hadn't thought of them.
(I've been to all you suggested except the Red House, where's that?)
