Blood... etymological, not menstrual.

Today's word of the day is exsanguination, brought to me by a science fiction book in which someone was exsanguinating all over the floor and making it slippery. I find the ties to the word sanguine kind of enlightening... happiness is having your sanguineus in your arteries and veins where it damn well belongs. ;) And, Jacqueline Carey fans, are you thinking of the word sangoire yet?
I have that empty-headed (in a good way: less internal noise) feeling I get after making a decision. It doesn't seem right to get any sense of peace out of making a career move as luck-driven and random as this one, until I remember how much more random the decision to come to DSB was.
I started at DSB because:
I needed a job;
I wanted to stay in the city, near HLM;
I realized how many more software jobs are design jobs than mechanical engineering jobs are;
DSB was willing to train me in software.
I'm switching to ProfitWhore because:
I don't want to get stuck in the military / R&D niche;
Software remains fun, involves design and pays well;
I'll be working at the core of the company's product, and thus feeling useful;
I kinda was planning to switch to somewhere this year;
It's in the city and on public transportation.
See, none of it is very deep except the "design" thing, but it's getting less random. It really is.
My latest theory is that it's actually very rare to have a clue about life.
