Sterilization all over
Sep. 22nd, 2004 05:42 pmYeah, there's a little detail I didn't tell you about: it was rescheduled from tomorrow morning to this morning. Which means it's all over. :) I'll make a more informative post (probably here, and on
childfree_zone, and on
vaginapagina) when I feel up to it.
How do I feel? Woozy and sleepy, thanks to the powers of Valium. Should be back up to 100% tomorrow... or what passes for 100% lately, what with both my feet injured from TKD and having to sleep more than usual. I'm not in pain anymore. I have much much much less to complain about than, say, blue, and I know it. But for a couple of hours I had no particular faith that the pain/cramping would go away, and it was a wee bit scary while it lasted.
We have fully grouted tile in our tub area now, and today they laid down all the slate tiles for the floor (but it isn't grouted yet). One of the contractors' wives came over, and, not knowing we were in earshot, said "Kinda ugly. Nice job though" when she saw our shower tiles. Hmm, here's hoping she's an outlier and we haven't hurt our odds of resale. The tile is a rather nice green on the top half, tan color on the bottom half, with a zigzag pattern dividing them. I thought it was normal enough. *shrug* However, today's progress was to lay down the slate tiles on the floor, and everyone agrees it looks beautiful. I'm a little surprised they did that before painting the walls, because paint dripping on the stone would be bad. But whatever. They know their job.

Date: 2004-09-23 05:34 am (UTC)As for the contractor's wife...she could very well be one of those people who thinks anything without pink or pastel is ugly, and you wouldn't want someone like that buying your house anyway. I'm anxious for pictures though (or perhaps I'll even venture over sometime).

I don't think that sounds ugly at all. In fact when B & I daydream about the tiles that we're going to make for our bathroom (someday), the 2 glazes I talk about using are a tan one and a green one. So, I'm right there w/ you.

Date: 2004-09-23 07:22 pm (UTC)You will have to come see the tiles and such, once certain people are mobile again. Not to name any names.
WOOHOO! CONGRATS!

Date: 2004-09-26 06:19 am (UTC)Just kidding... I haven't even had sex yet, thanks to the way too much motion seems to set off the bleeding. Oh well, not many more days probably.
Thanks for the congrats. :) I'm not so surprised being a mom is working out for you. And I want to meet Josie sometime, so if you all ever hop the puddle again, don't forget us.
