[livejournal.com profile] miyyu recently found Noam Chomsky's blog, which links to Tim Wise's blog. Who is this Tim Wise? He's clever and funny! Several other very thoughtful blogs are linked from those two as well. As for mine, well, I have been thinking some thoughts, especially since I got my copy of Childfree and Sterilized: Women's Decisions and Medical Responses in the mail, but I'm not ready to talk about that yet.

I had a good weekend, full of fun and art. You can read about it if you like. ) I forgot all about Easter, until I remembered and got worried that McGym would be closed. But it wasn't, and it was blissfully emptier than usual. The Christian holidays really are about peace... peace and quiet. No need to be religious to appreciate that. :)

One word of advice: you should all go to the nearest Trader Joe's or hippie grocery store immediately and buy some sunflower seed butter. The stuff is incredible, especially on a whole wheat bagel. Yum. I think I like it even better than almond butter.

Ha ha, oops, I just spent $83 on a shoe rack. Apparently hold everything is as generous with their shipping rates as they are with their original pricing. But oh well, my shoes will be in one place when it arrives.

I just read two articles in a row about the aging of America. I remind myself for at least the 100th time that next time I get brave enough for individual stock-picking I should really take a look at the leading manufacturers of medical equipment, especially for geriatric care. Wonder who's the leading supplier of cataract surgery equipment? Are there any publicly traded nursing home companies?

I'm not being evil, just slightly morbid. I'm going to need money someday if I'm going to support the 2.3 (or whatever, the number is scary) old baby boomers who'll be depending on me while I'm still in the workforce and they're not, especially if I keep spending so much on shoe racks. And the one thing we know they'll need and want is lots and lots of medical care. :b
