Small victories, part II
Jun. 25th, 2005 01:18 pmLast night in yoga class I finally, and I do mean finally, kicked up to a handstand against the wall. Strangely, it wasn't even hard... I had just been missing one vitally important bit of technique that, for me anyway, was the final piece needed. I'm sure that for some people something else (say, strength, or not being scared of going upside-down) would be the last piece, but for me it was just to keep looking at the floor between my hands as I kicked up. As far as I can tell, this isn't just for stability -- it also arches the upper back, thus adusting the shoulders to an angle that's easier on the joint. Whatever the reason, if I remember to do it, I seem to float right up. Squee!
Guy whose name I can't remember, who noticed last time that my gaze wasn't staying on the floor, thank you. :)
Also, it's time for a product review of the Mooncup--whining on LJ about not getting my period is the best way to get it, so I've now had a chance to check it out.
