Saturday morning we took a tour of a house on our street that's for sale. It was converted to a 1-family by the last owners, and came with an extra half-lot which makes up a nice yard, and was at a price we actually could have afforded. That was kind of a crazy thought -- and it's also crazy how much space some people choose to occupy. I kept alternating between "wow, this is cool" and "wow, this would be a LOT of work to clean/heat/maintain/remodel". Parts of it were nice, parts were just large and creaky. I also kept imagining the place with all our stuff in it... mostly empty, that is... and found myself kind of glad to cross the street and come back home. I can see wanting more space someday, but there are limits beyond which my sense of elegance is offended.

Between that and a condo meeting last week, I was reminded that we have a home of our own to play with -- a cheerful thought. We have two projects that will take a while to get off the ground (and will involve other people, and varying large amounts of dust), but in the meantime we've ordered a new light fixture for the bedroom:

We also ordered a storage headboard that will let us get rid of some crud we have now. Just imagine that thing with two tiny little lamps peering down from the top. Then imagine me and [livejournal.com profile] heisenbug snuggling up and doing a cryptic crossword.
