Today I fell asleep on the couch with cats and books on me, as photographically chronicled by heisenbug. It was awesome. I got books for Christmas, mostly, and someone gave a goat from heifer.org in our name, and someone else donated money to a microcredit initiative for me. I guess starting next year I should start posting lists of causes/organizations I support, so that people who want to do this will have some guidance in the future (*cough* kiva *cough cough*).

I also have a bunch of new clothes, because yesterday I found out that the Porter Square Gap is going out of sale and they had lots of things on sale. Yay! I usually try to offset my purchases by getting rid of stuff (cotton-neutralizing?), so I went around and found seven old pieces of clothing to get rid of, to counteract the new. I'm surprised at how generally doable that is... I started it last year based on a suggestion of my mom's and found that it works very well for keeping my wardrobe fresh.

Finally sat down to watch my Matt Furey handstand training DVD, which is aimed entirely at using handstands to build strength. Most of it is stuff that I'd picked up from the associated booklet already, but it was nice to watch the video. My favorite, most at-my-level exercise from that is doing a handstand against the wall and then walking laterally back and forth. I walked a few feet this way in the gym on Saturday and it was hard! It was fun. It was hard fun. However, there really wasn't anything useful on form, or any kind of getting up other than the one-legged kickup (mastered a long time ago, thanks). Eh well, I suppose I'll lend it out to some friends of mine who are into Crossfit stuff, and then return it to the primordial soup that is eBay.
