I'm sorry for rickrolling you all yesterday. It sure did bring people out of the woodwork though, including someone I've known since I was three! Welcome to LJ,
say_shazam. :D
I usually don't bother much with April Fool's day, but yesterday at Zillian was insane. There were a ton of external hoaxes, and then there was the internal stuff... sigh. I fell right into a lot of it and felt like an idiot -- after Colubrid, I just forgot that there are places where hoax-mail comes down from the most respected names, and it didn't help that one person announced she was pregnant and actually was, thus reverse-pranking most of the office. By the end of the day, two things were clear to me: first, I viscerally needed to pass the cruelty along, and second, with both Blogger and Youtube rickrolling their readers, rickrolling has officially been Done to Death. It was my last chance. I knew that spoofing an lj-cut link would be the most likely to give me the mindless click I needed; after that I just had to decide what to fake, and considered several bits of juicy news which I'm saving for next year. I wound up going with a daydream rather than making up something bad, because it was more fun to write up. Truly, the folks at Fitness First are not likely to put it on the market anytime soon, but if they did...!
I spent a bunch of this evening knitting a thumb cozy instead of single-mindedly doing my homework, because someone wanted one and said they bet I could whip it right up. Sigh. Must stop responding so well to flattery.
