Vacation Thursday

For the first time ever, I was home today when the cleaning people came to work their magic. Awkward, awkward! I went out on the porch with my book and an apple and a jar of peanut butter, and sat in the sun reading The Time Traveller's Wife and eating my apple with dabs of peanut butter on it, and that was actually really nice. After a few minutes I realized my terrified little cat was out there too, lurking beyond the bannisters, and I spent quite a while petting her and coaxing her to come onto the deck.

The sun moved and it got colder, and I lay down and cuddled her until she stopped shivering. I like unemployment.

Are you unemployed? I thought this was just a vacation?

Yeah, it is just a vacation; I'm heading back to work on Monday. It's amusing to think of it as a trial run, though... a period of me doing this kind of thing is what could happen in the so-called worst case.

I am kind of liking this "worst case".
