Sometimes failure's a lovely thing
Sep. 5th, 2003 10:51 amUgh, that was a stressful business trip. I worked until I almost got sick (yay, reminded me of college) and we were all grouchy, and I didn't work out at all (which means I haven't worked out since Sunday. Sunday!), and in the end our stuff just wasn't ready so they ended up postponing our demo until Sept 30, the last day of the fiscal year. Bad bad bad. But wait--did someone say postpone? Did someone say I'll be in town next week? Heh. :) If I'd realized that a little professional embarrassment would buy me that much more time for the wedding I'd've done it on purpose. Yup, bad attitude, but we're not the first software team to slide on a deliverable date, and this is my first and hopefully only wedding.
My mood? Good. Any day I'm back in Boston after being gone is a good day. And oh yes, I finally found out what the plan for the bachelor party is... they're going to Jillian's. Awww, how sweet. Suddenly I'm far more worried about my party than his, though I'm a bit sad he's going to Jillian's without me... I wanted to try that dancing machine with him. It was broken the one time we were there together.
(Another nice thing: oddly and suddenly, just when I have no time to go to the library, my coworkers are giving me books. I just acquired White Teeth by Zadie Smith and, on loan, Hard-boiled Wonderland at the End of the World by Murakami, without asking for either. I'm convinced that the universe is, maybe just for the moment, officially on my side.)
