Zillian, handstands and hamstrings

Work's actually been fun for the last couple of weeks, as I've somehow started doing my own coding again. I'm selfishly grateful for having no headcount in my group -- I couldn't grow the group, overextend myself and lose the chance to code even if I wanted to. :P My own score for the last two quarters came back good, as well. The only fly in the ointment, and it's a big nasty fly, is that Zillian is firing ANOTHER friend of mine. That news broke on Friday and I am filled with rage about it. Things like this are why I never choose "agree" when that internal survey says "I would recommend Zillian as an excellent place to work." No, yes, no! It's excellent when it's not incredibly harsh. Like a beautiful tropical jungle filled with carnivorous plants -- oh, and located on a major fault line, and I have lost too many friends this way and I am going to miss this one. Damn it.
I also want to tell you about acro, how my bases came back last week and I worked with both of them and it was all weird (as expected: "who are you again?"). Also, how the Ant shaved his head on Wednesday, and it didn't look good and he was so not hot -- but as of today he's got just a bit of head-fuzz and looks good again. So funny. We worked together in a semiprivate lesson and it was lighthearted and fun, and I think we feel good about the partnership again ("oh yeah, that's who you are.") We had a rambling talk in his car afterward about workouts, goal setting in the context of attention spans, incorporating feedback, solo work vs class work, and how we like it when life is straightforward. It makes me smile. Then we got to the park and I worked on sequencing with Scooper and was happy there too.
Speaking of solo work, handstands continue to be THE obsession. With three lessons per week plus time on my own practicing, I do worry about my wrists -- but the wrists are holding up and the time on task is paying off. I still haven't topped that 40s static hold; lately it's my kickups that are getting better and sticking more often, instead. And my right hamstring is actually thinking harder about healing lately, judging by my right splits today. I'm still ultrasounding and stretching it, and doing isometric exercises during meetings, and I have a new 4" foam roller.
