Last night:
  • I balanced the first of four 30-second handstand holds entirely on my own, the whole 30 seconds.
  • Twice I was able to move in and out of a Mexican with only the lightest of spots; I was actually under control.
  • Once at the end of that exercise, I found myself "stuck" in a perfectly balanced handstand that felt so balanced I could talk! Came down on purpose to let my partner go, not because I needed or wanted to.
  • Still got through the handstand tabata at the end of class.


All of these pale, I think, in comparison to Friday -- for the first time I moved (once) from a straight handstand to a tuck and back to straight with no spot.

I wish this were linear, I wish I had my press, I wish I had a 60-second hold on the record, I wish for many things. BUT, mastery is coming closer. Getting coached 3x/week is seriously paying off in terms of all these little firsts.
