So many houseguests -- four between mid-December and earlier this week. I took Friday off just to set all the little things straight that they left off-kilter -- restoring shoes to the shoe rack (where we'd moved things aside to make space), washing all the sheets and towels, going through the entire fridge to make sure nothing too random had been left without us knowing about it, putting away the last completed jigsaw puzzle. Tiring but satisfying. Oh, and while everything was out of the fridge I also looked at the "best by" dates of all the food, and wow, did that clear out some space. Almost all our condiments were overdue for the garbage bin.

At long last, there is no sign of the visitors. All is returned. [personal profile] heisenbug and I even partly disassembled our dining room table in order to fix it after it wouldn't go back together with all its leaves removed, and felt clever when we found/fixed a gear that had slipped into the wrong position.

I've started my sheet of maintenance gym things for 2018, and made a lot of progress on my annual "training montage" video of random training and shenanigans from 2017. I expect that to be done in a day or so -- it's shorter than past years, possibly because it doesn't take long to do or not do a handstand exercise.

Open studio today was delicious. I did standing hand-to-hand with [personal profile] bolson while [personal profile] heisenbug pulled lines (he took a class on how, and now needs practice time), I did a few good cartwheels onto canes, and I nailed my step-down from croc to handstand twice in a row after several weeks of not being able to get it. I wish my left shoulder weren't full of jank; still trying to fix that; but at least my handbalancing feels like it's back. 2018 could be very good indeed.
