Can't make it through the week without posting. Everything is too dense, there's too much. Every day is seeing how much I can do of the things I don't want to do, and every day I get some things done, but it's all felt like shoveling wet snow.

I did some slugging away at the work project. And on catching up with people (so many 1:1s today).

My Tuesday date got canceled, as did an attempted Thursday-morning breakfast; it is a squirrel-less void I travel through. (I did have dinner with a work friend on Tuesday instead, following which I was tipsy and played Super Mario World by myself on the couch... not sorry.)

The biggest news today is that my dad hasn't been lucid since his open-heart surgery yesterday. The physical heart part went okay. But he has "pumphead", or postperfusion syndrome, and has been dreaming and/or having flashbacks all of today as well as being in a lot of pain. Not himself enough to recognize his wife. He's in the ICU and will stay there for at least one more day, so he's in the best possible place for the state he's in, and this level of impairment should be transient, but it's scary.

The owners of the unit downstairs are dragging their feet hard on re-painting the house's exterior, claiming a very limited budget for the year. I've been thinking of making an offer on that unit next spring, but now that I know they're hurting for cash... well. Admittedly buying the place would a pretty extreme way to get it painted, but I guess I'll approach them and see if they'd be interested. I talked to my financial guy today and he thought it sounded perfectly reasonable.

Did I mention that Trump is a convicted felon now? Oh, yeah. That happened too.
