Emergency vet visit
Mar. 18th, 2019 01:10 pmSpent a couple of hours yesterday taking a very listless Nala to the emergency vet. A friend was over (and just about ready to leave) when she began having an episode of some kind, so he was able to drive us there. When the episode started, one of the first things that happened (after a mournful meow) was pooping in the hallway, and we thought maybe it was just a problem with not getting to her preferred litterbox. But then she got really listless/limp, seemed to lose control over her back legs, panted for a while with her mouth open and drooling, and lost control of her bladder, which is a new thing that had never happened before. :-/
Good news from the vet is that her kidney numbers are actually back down to pre-December levels, and her temperature and response to light were okay. She was listless not dying, and recovering basically the whole time we were there. So we brought her back home, did some laundry, and all is normal again. 21st birthday might still be a thing.
