Let me start by noting that my prefrontal cortex is pretty shot for the moment. Today I've been kind, I've been efficient, I did some organizing and some work and a long workout without wasting too much time, I did a totally new social thing with a new group of people, and goddamn it I am going to lounge here on the couch and vomit some words.
Where did we leave our heroine? Picking up pieces. Yes. I was blessed with a quiet week and while one never gets all the things done, it feels like all the life-pieces are back in hand.
Too much detail, but I warned you. Yes I did.

- 2.5 day workweek was so quiet. The meetings I did have were weird/fun ones, like one long session with old friends going through really old modules of code trying to collectively remember what they were so that we could delete them. I got a new Chromebook and went into the office one day to get that set up and turn down my old desktop for the last time, and I ran into the friend who I recently got re-hired in the cafe ("you bastard impostor" I howled, throwing myself into a hug) and had a delightful lunch.
- Thanksgiving was over at Blue-Green Street; a slightly larger group than last year. I was briefly thrown by a social dynamic, but managed to settle down and settle in, after which it was good and snuggly and there was raspberry lambic. I think the squirrel and I are past the conversational difficulties we were having, or at least it's not so top-of-mind anymore and I am feeling more mutual appreciation happening again. Probably intervening events have helped; I don't know, it does still feel bad when I think about it too much. Anyway, Thanksgiving.
- I had a really good conversation (actual phone call) with my distance coach in which we talked about my possibly leaving his coaching for a few months in order to try the program given to me by the Costa Rica coaches. He was great about that. He wants to learn more about their programming so that he can give a professional opinion on whether it might actually help me, which I'm perfectly happy to share and have a solid talk about. Ironically I've been having a great time with his workouts over this last week, feeling strong and happy. We'll see. I still have a few weeks.
- Pretty much did all my Xmas shopping, much of which is electronic this year: Kindle books, Audible books, telling Amazon to ship various goods directly to other addresses. And yes, Black Friday. I'm getting a somewhat larger Tom Bihn purse because my tiny one can't handle a book, and two new shirts from Marcella that I think I'm going to like a lot, annnd, okay, a replacement phone tripod, and some new monitor lights for video calls this winter.
- It's finally gotten cold, so I did the biannual clothing swap -- brought out the winter clothes, and put away the most summer-specific ones. Along the way I did a glove audit and realized that yes, I really did need new gloves, and ordered a couple pairs of those too. Getting more set for the season.
- Went to see "David Boobie", a burlesque and David Bowie tribute show, with the bug -- my second time in two weeks seeing pole dancers, and one of my friends was also performing, and we ran into yet another (ex-Zillian) friend in the audience who I now have dinner set up with. How very social. I have a lot of social coming up this next week.
- Started playing Void Stranger after reading this review and others. I'm not up to the subversive part yet, so it's mainly just a 2D sokoban puzzler so far, and that's not a bad thing. My current science fiction (speculative fiction?) book is also truly excellent and it feels good to be into some exciting media.
- Wrapped up the weekend with a D&D game back over at the squirrel's! I had no idea that D&D was on to Version 5.... kids these days. My character is a cleric, so I should figure out how spell-casting works before the next gathering. It was really fun to watch the squirrel DMing though.
- I sent out next year's (proposed) condo budget, and it seems I don't have to raise the rates. Nice.
Too much detail, but I warned you. Yes I did.
